CoNimby® Foundation launches new charity to advance educational opportunities.

CoNimby® Foundation today announced the launch of the Ohio Education Foundation, a statewide charity under the leadership of the CoNimby Cooperative. The Ohio Education Foundation goal is to advance equitable educational opportunities and provide support that elevates learning for low-income students and students of color.

“I stumbled across some research from Churchill at the Fordham Institute a few years ago, that discussed the lack of progress for Ohio’s low-income and students of color. I did my own research into the achievement gap and why many of the solutions implemented are not working if you look at current NAEP data. That led me to the founding the Ohio Education Foundation”, stated Robert Farris, Chairman of CoNimby Foundation.

NAEP, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, often referred to as the “Nation’s Report Card”, is the only assessment that measures student knowledge across states, and the nation.  The Ohio Education Foundation will not only aim to decrease the achievement gap but to also create opportunities for those who fall through the gap.
